ShieldPro Heavy (formerly Coregas He30)

ShieldPro Heavy (formerly Coregas He30) is a premium gas used primarily for the MIG welding of carbon steel. Great for clean, quality and economical welds.

ShieldPro mixtures have the addition of helium, hydrogen or nitrogen, which improves performance in areas such as welding speed, penetration, profile, surface appearance and metallurgical benefits. This in turn improves the two major areas of concern in a welding process - quality and economics.

Ar / He

Excellent arc stability. The addition of carbon dioxide (CO2) improves the shape of the weld bead. The addition of helium increases heat transfer which broadens and deepens weld penetration.

  • Good for heavier sections of galvanised steel

  • Good weld profile and penetration
